Netflix is the latest to have a go at the true-crime genre with its new docuseries Making a Murderer, the story of a man named Steven Avery who was convicted of rape, later exonerated and then arrested for murder.
In an unprecedented move, the streaming service has posted the show’s pilot on YouTube, making it available to watch for free for those who don’t have a Netflix subscription. It will be up to you to decide if the first episode of the 10-part series is good enough to sign up for your own account.
With all of the recent hype surrounding Sarah Koenig’s Serial and HBO’s The Jinx, it’s clear that true-crime series are of great interest right now.
